Project Description

Uni Construction acted as the Design-Builder for this project, leading the pursuit and winning the design and budget competition. This role combined design and construction expertise to deliver a comprehensive solution for the college.

Key Responsibilities

Project Team Assembly: Forming a team with a qualified architect (Hawkins Brown in this case) and other design disciplines (DCI structural engineers, mechanical engineers, etc.) to create a competitive design package with Not-to-Exceed budget adhering to client’s requirements and standards.

Design Management: Overseeing the design process, ensuring the new facility meets Pierce College’s educational requirements, budget constraints, and adheres to all building codes and regulations.

Cost Estimating & Budgeting: Developing accurate construction cost estimates to ensure a competitive bid within the college’s budget.

Project Proposal & Presentation: Creating a compelling proposal that highlights the design concept, functionality, budget, and Uni Construction’s qualifications as the Design-Builder.

Project Award

Uni Construction’s design-build proposal, including the work of Hawkins Brown and other design disciplines, successfully won the project based on its design and budget competitiveness.
